The Society has once again hosted this year’s Hong Kong Knowledge Management Conference on 30th March 2010.<\/p>\n

With 9 highly respected international and local speakers, the theme of the conference was “Making KM productive” and luminaries gave updates on various topics including identification of critical knowledge assets, managing knowledge in a complex world, intellectual capital for knowledge organisations, design thinking approach to KM, personal KM, digital assets management and process-based KM, and critical success factors for KM projects.<\/p>\n

The conference finished on a high note with a fish-bowl style panel discussion that drew comments from the audience on the future of KM. Real time tweets by several speakers and attendees enhanced the interactiveness and liveliness of the entire event.<\/p>\n

The day-long event was very well received by the near 90 person audience representing CLP Power, MTR, British Council, Arup, Census and Statistics Department, OGCIO, Li-Ning and many others. The Society would also like to thank the 2 Gold Sponsors, ASL and EMC, and the 7 supporting organisations for their part in making the conference a success. The Langham Place Hotel, a MAKE awards winner, hosted the conference and provided excellent service throughout. Co-organiser The Knowledge Management Research Centre, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University also offered extensive logistic support for the event and their contribution is gratefully acknowledged.<\/p>\n

Among the international speakers, David Gurteen, conducted a post conference workshop on facilitation skills for Knowledge Cafes. The entire Conference including the workshop received high marks from the participants.<\/p>\n
